mp3: Pacific Theme

Dear Broken Social Scene,

Do you guys have a favorite song? Is that really possible to have anymore? I mean, my life is so saturated with music that my favorites seems to ebb and flow back and forth between whatever hit album gets a 9+ on pitchfork and the postmodern representations of said songs on Kidz Bop X. Is it really possible to make one choice? I prefer the desert island question: Which five cds would you take if you were stranded? Easy. Kidz Bop 1-5. There. Done.

Anyway I was listening to Pacific Theme for the umpteenth time the other day. Not because I chose to do so, but because my music player (for the soundtrack to my life) was on shuffle and it serendipitously stumbled upon the song. By the end of the song, I knew that it was my favorite song of all time. I mean it has trumpets (you already know that I love them), and it just sounds like a party that won’t quit. And best of all, I don’t have to worry about the aforementioned desert island question for one simple reason: The song is already called Pacific Theme — it will be the soundtrack to my attempt at isolated survival. And I will be jamming all the way.
