The Microphones / Mount Eerie

mp3: Great Ghosts

Dear Phil,

microphonesThe winter is approaching here in Provo — I can tell because my feet are getting colder. I am thinking that I will need to put insulation or something on my windows (these are the consequences of living in a shack made of tin), and I am aware that I hardly have any warm clothing.

I think I like to let your music surprise me. Although I consider myself a fan, and that everytime I have seen you play live has been a wonderful memorable experience (the first time being the best show I have attended in my life thus far), I wouldn’t say that I listen to your music religiously. And recently I came across this album in my archives and across this song. It was such a beautiful surprise. It is incredibly warm. And like I mentioned, my toes are getting colder with each coming day, and I need all the warmth I can get.

Winter wishes (way too early),

Rob

ps. we heard a rumor that you were playing a hardcore show coming up in provo. true?

this has got to be one of my favorite artists. I really like no flashlight. Really good cd. If you like this, check out adrian orange. I think that the two of them (phil and adrian) are buddys, but not sure. Like rob said, amazing live. Check him out next he comes to you town.
